MCN Security's MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME augments the Windows Logon using our advanced face recognition technology, providing both convenience and additional security.

MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME Feature Set:

Provides integrated logon functionality for PCs running Windows operating systems.
Re-authenticates the user each time the interactive session requires a password.
Allows the use of face recognition in conjunction with, or instead of, a logon ID and password.
Preserves user account and password information, so users can still log on using just these two pieces of information at lower security thresholds.

MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME uses the revolutionary MCN FRS SYSTEM software to augment the Windows Logon procedure, providing convenience and additional security - rather than replacement security. It provides an extra layer of security to protect your computer from unauthorized use by allowing access only to users who have been registered and enrolled in the system. You can use face recognition in conjunction with, or instead of, a logon ID and password.

MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME product provides integrated logon functionality to a PC running a Windows operating system. It hooks into the user interface for interactive logons, and thus provides an extra level of security for physical logon to the PC. The user is re-authenticated every time the interactive session requires a password. That is, when the user logs on to create a session, or when the user unlocks the interactive session after it has been manually or automatically locked through the screensaver password protection mechanism, MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME authenticates the user.

The user account for the interactive session, and its Security Identifier (SID), are authenticated using a biometric on top of the normal Windows authentication. As a result, all actions taken within that logon session have an extra level of authentication associated with them.

Unlike several competing products providing logon functionality, MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME preserves user account and password information, so that it is still possible to log on using these two pieces of information. This feature allows users to access network and remote accounts using the same credentials they use in their interactive session. Other similar products change the password randomly, making it impossible to use the same user account over a network, and creating a potentially confusing situation for the user. To function properly in a network environment such products lead to a proliferation of user accounts, because each user requires two such accounts - one for interactive logons, and one for remote non-domain logons - thus complicating administration of the system. MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME provides additional security, not replacement security.

The MCN FRS PC LOGON - HOME solution consists of more than just extensions to the standard logon screen. In addition to these extensions, the product has a Logon Administrator tool that allows users to configure associations between Windows accounts (local or domain) and MCN FRS SYSTEM users. A Logon Wizard facilitates setup, walking users through the enrollment process.
